Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from London

The Short Version

I am Liam Carter based in London, and over the past several years I've chronicled my visits to gyms across United Kingdom.

This site exists because I grew weary of selecting gyms by glossy ads and vague suggestions, only to find the reality fell short. I wanted clear, honest information about what these places were really like. When I couldn't find it, I decided to create it.

How This Started

My workout routine started at a modest club near 65 Oxford Street in London. It wasn't ideal, yet it was reachable, budget-friendly, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that venue shut its doors, I saw how fast United Kingdom's fitness scene was evolving. New clubs emerged, fresh concepts appeared, and marketing started to outshine actual member experiences.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Those notes gradually formed this site, aimed at helping others make clearer choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here is based on an actual visit and time spent inside the facility. I focus on practical details that matter when you are choosing a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Take enough time to understand routines, peak hours, and patterns
  • Visit on different days and at different times
  • Try more than one training format and instructor
  • Regularly use facilities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Talk with fellow members about consistency and variations
  • Note impressions right after each visit

I update reviews when major changes occur: renovations, changes in management, pricing shifts, or new amenities. Each article displays its most recent update date so you can gauge current relevance.

What I Look For

What matters to me might differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the area feel thoughtfully arranged for members, with respectful boundaries and a relaxed vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Are repairs prompt?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness signals how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in London. This project is here to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people looking for the right environment.
